Ila is going on vacation with her father and little brother. Her mother is staying behind because Ila's parents are getting a divorce. Even though she has known him all her life, Ila has to get used to her father. Without her mother, everything is different. Fortunately, some things, like Mom's mug, the sound of the engine, and her sleeping bag, do remain the same. All the items in the van come to life and seem to want to tell Ila something. But what?

I loved illustrating this book filled with emotion and summery scenes, and adding graphic novel like, atmospheric illustrations, that are loosely based on my own travel sketches.
